American Pie: Reunion has released a new theatrical trailer crammed full of new footage, as Jim, Finch, Stifler and co celebrate their high-school reunion in time-honoured style… by getting wasted and sleazing on girls.
The new trailer introduces a few new plot points, including the arrival of the girl Jim used to babysit for. Naturally, she’s turning 18, and is going to test sex-starved Jim’s powers of self-control.
Elsewhere, there’s more Stifler-centric action, with a welcome suggestion that the character has returned to the obnoxious frat-boy of the first two films, rather than the gibbering moron of the third.
Nostalgia is the name of the game with this one, and it’ll be interesting to see how co-directors Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg balance the gross-out gags with the stresses and strains of adult life.
It’s certainly the most interesting ground the series has covered since the original movie, and it’s not just fond memories that have us excited by this one. American Pie: Reunion opens in the UK on 2 May 2012.
